Colliers Cornish Cheese
Small company based in Penryn in Cornwall founded and run by Sue Collier who has been a cheese maker in Cornwall for several years. She was the head cheesemaker for Menallack Farm and won various awards for her cheeses, and now produces artisan Cows Milk cheese similar to Menallack and Ewe's milk cheese by hand, all made from Cornish Milk in Cornwall.

Pilchards, caught locally and sustainably in accordance with MCS criteria, are processed and tinned in Brittany using traditional manufacturing methods. The tinned fish - otherwise known as sardines - are available preserved in either olive oil, tomato sauce or sunflower oil. Tins can be purchased in packs on line - see website - or through local wholesaler Westcountry Fruit Sales.
Individual tins are also available from local retailers including the Natural Store, Falmouth and the Spar Shop in Carnon Downs.

The ReFILL Store
Customers can reduce their reliance on single-use plastic by refilling their own containers, or by using recyclable paper bags,to purchase a wide range of grocery products including:- rice, pasta, cereals, spices, pulses, dried fruit, nuts and seeds, as well as household cleaning (e.g. washing up and laundry liquids) and body care items.
There are also a number of plastic alternative products on offer including toothpaste and toothbrushes, bamboo (ecoffee) cups and the rCUP - the world's first reusable coffee cup made from used cups designed by a company based in Perranporth
The Store is open Monday - Saturday 9.30am - 5.30pm and also has an online order service for collection - see website for details.
Whilst the store currently carries few Cornish products we have included them in the guide on account of the company being local and independent and their innovative contribution to waste reduction, reuse and recycling

Non-perishable, in-date food is donated via schools, churches, retailers and individuals is boxed up by volunteers for distribution to those in food need in return for a voucher. Foodbank vouchers are issued by care professionals (e.g.doctors,health visitors,social services, CAB workers) to those in crisis. Other forms of support also available.
Truro Foodbank is open Monday and Thursday 10-1pm at Truro Methodist Church, Truro. Tuesdays 10-12pm at All Saints, Highertown, Truro, and Tuesdays, 10-12pm at St.Michael's Church, Perranporth.
Donations of food can be dropped off at All Saints every Tuesday 10-1pm or by using the dedicated baskets in Tescos, Sainsbury's and the Co-op, Truro

Falmouth's first zero waste and plastic-free shop - opened on 21st July 2018 by the Town's Mayor - stocks a wide range of organic bulk wholefoods all of which are supplied on a refill your own container basis or in a paper bag.
A small range of locally sourced goods include chilli sauce, food wraps and coffee beans roasted in nearby Penryn. Other products available include eco cleaning materials,toiletries and other plastic free items.
Opening hours are Monday - Saturday 9.00 to 5.30 p.m.
