Meeting: next Wed 28th Sept: Fal Energy and Transition Falmouth meeting at The Poly 7:00pm (Library room).
Sept 24th: Resurgence/350.org event at Constantine.
I am having a problem working out low carbon transport. Bikes good but road not a good one and not everyone has a bike. Buses will get us there approx 11:00am but last one approx 5:00pm and Satish Kumar not there until 6:00pm.
We could do bus there and walk back (5 miles) ‘walking bus’ with lots of lights. Or of course the last resort is car share but not a low carbon option. Any ideas please and who is going?
Update for Fal Energy Partnership
I made an application to Falmouth Town Council for £250 presented last Monday – unfortunately as I was not able to attend the meeting the application has been deferred to Oct 10th, more info was requested. By then we will have the report to show.
Penryn Town Council are having a change of Town Clerk so the Councillor who is presenting the project to them will do so when the new Town Clerk is settled in.
Transport: The CC Transport Dept has produced the 2011 – 5 year Implementation Plan – Falmouth and Penryn have been selected as one of two ‘Cycle Demonstration Towns’ in Cornwall.
Charmian is very busy sorting out the court case for the incinerator and producing a Plan B for Cornwall Council, but she has managed to put a draft report together for Fal Energy.
For the remaining September Charmian and I are working on producing the document report from the data that has been accumulated so far.
Local energy consumption, potential renewable options for the area, existing reports and project suggestions.
This initial report is aimed to be in time for the Falmouth350 celebrations beginning of October and the new Falmouth Charter.
Oct 19th there is an event at The Poly about Green Falmouth – organised by Mike Jenks from The Poly.
Then Nov 17th, Fal Energy to have an evening event at The Poly with speakers on Community Energy initiatives : Wadebridge and Ladock and Community Energy Plus. (There will be a £1 donation requested to support The Poly.)
The intention then is to have a monthly event at The Poly (from Jan).
