Those of us in ‘the select loop of information’ were surprised to receive an update this week from the Sustainable Transport Co-ordinator at Cornwall Council giving us hope that CC hasn’t given away the idea altogether.
“We are still progressing with it (the car club project) and in particular are keen to include Truro & Falmouth within the scope of the project. I am currently preparing a tender specification as part of the procurement process, to appoint a car club operator to oversee the day to day management etc of the service. There are some details to be finalised but I’m sure you will be pleased to hear about the above. I presume the Transition group are still keen to support the project? Perhaps we can meet up sometime to discuss further, as I know there will be a lot of work to do in terms of community engagement before and after appointing an operator.”
Carplus made this original recommendation in February 2013
Of course I replied (personally) and assured her that I would expect TF to continue to support the idea.
If anyone wants to be part of the meeting (if it happens) let me know and I’ll add you into the contacts list.
