On Wednesday, 6th November Kernow Credit Union opened its new service point in Truro Town Hall – which is good news not only for the people of Truro, but also for any credit union member from the Falmouth/Penryn area who works in or regularly visits the City, and needs to do some financial business at a convenient KCU branch.
With the demise of Cornish Community Banking in Truro, Kernow Credit Union has stepped in to provide a welcome alternative to high street banks, building societies and payday lenders.
Credit Unions work for and on behalf of local communities. They are organized as a financial co-operative and, as such, are wholly owned and controlled by their members.
They provide :-
– a safe and secure place for your savings
– low cost loans at very reasonable rates
– free guidance and support in managing finances
– local funds for the benefit of local communities
Credit Unions are for everyone!… both individuals and organizations including small businesses, churches and community groups. Simply by saving with the Kernow Credit Union you are contributing to a pot of money which can help others borrow to meet their needs… and also helps keep money in the local economy.
