From Charmian Larke via Cornwall Waste Forum:
We have until 9.00am Monday morning (30th July) to get enough support to persuade the Cabinet to vote in favour of an independent review of our proposed recycling approach for Cornwall’s waste.
Our figures show that the Council would save nearly £10m pa even after allowing for the full costs of terminating the present PFI contract. If the Cabinet vote against this they will suffer major reputational damage.

Please ask your Cornwall Councillor to either ask a Cabinet member to vote for the independent review or to go to the Cabinet meeting Monday morning to speak in favour of the recommendation.

This is the best chance we have had in a long time to move Cornwall’s waste treatment towards higher sustainability.
