“Age of Stupid” showing in Constantine on April 1st

Transition Constantine are showing “Age of Stupid” this Wednesday at the Tolmen Centre – we are cancelling Wednesday’s TF event on Transport to encourage as many as possible to see this film:

Hello Transition Falmouth from Constantine!

We’ve managed to get a screening of this eco-movie-of-the-moment for April 1st. Nice timing to have Age of Stupid on April Fools Day!

This was sold out at Eden last weekend and at various outlets across the country – and we are among the very first to show it locally.

Its a bit of a parable – about a world in the future after man has wrecked the eco-system.

Starring Pete Postlethwaite – who’s apparently a bit of an eco-warrior himself – as an old man living in the devastated world of 2055 watching archive footage of 2008 and asking ‘why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?’

The whole thing has been done with fashionably green credentials by Franny Armstrong who directed McLibel and John Battsek (One Day in September). It has been funded by subscription, shot on a shoestring budget with a minimal carbon footprint, with all sorts of celebs kicking in support – the soundtrack features songs by Radiohead and Depeche Mode among others.

This is a true Drama-Documentary-Animation hybrid and as Ken Livingstone – among many others has said:

“Everyone in the world should be made to see this film”

So it is at the Tolmen Centre on April Fools Day 1st April at 7.30. Only £2 and free to children and all concessions. No need to reserve – just turn up.
