Repair Cafes

The Cornwall Repair Café Network is here to support repair cafes. Both start-ups and those that have been running for a while. With the wider aim of creating community, teaching new skills and challenging throw-away culture. See Cornwall Council’s Cornwall Repair Cafe Network page

Reuse

Community RePaint Cornwall (St.Austell)

accepts donations of surplus usable paint from both householders and tradespeople for purchase at very reasonable rates, based in St.Austell (Truro shop now closed) Collection of paint can be arranged. Contact details: https://commrepaint.wixsite.com/cornwall

Cornwall Life Recycle (Camborne)

Based at Unit E2 at the Formal Business Park, they receive donations of unwanted or damaged bicycles to rebuild and repair for reuse.

Volunteers mentor students who need help with support and skills in bike repair. Working with the local community and its partners including Cornwall Council, refurbished bikes can be donated to students in need, or sold to raise funds for the Project. Bikes donated at the Kernow Reuse Shops are also refurbished here for reuse/resale.

Re-Cycle: Halfords (St.Austell)

Bicycle charity – Re-Cycle – works with Halfords to bring unwanted bikes, in a reasonable condition, to countries in Africa where they are refurbished and distributed, providing much-needed transport. Local people are also taught essential maintenance skills.
