Food Poverty Inquiry Report available

Transition Falmouth was one of 226 organisations to contribute to the All Party Parliamentary Inquiry into Food Poverty, which was co-chaired by the Bishop of Truro and launched in December.

The Inquiry Report – “Feeding Britain” – lays out a strategy for zero hunger in the UK, and includes a number of key recommendations for reducing hunger including tackling the scandal of the vast amount of surplus edible food going to waste in landfill.

Transition Falmouth will be raising some of these key issues with appropriate bodies in Kernow, and calling for a conference to address the pressing requirement to reduce food waste in all its forms across Cornwall.

The report and evidence review document can be viewed in full at http://foodpovertyinquiry.org
