Transition Falmouth welcomes new Tree Charter

News that the Woodland Trust has teamed up with over 70 other organisations to produce a new UK Charter for Trees, Woods and People has been welcomed by Transition Falmouth supporters. Its launch in November will coincide with the 800th anniversary of the Charter of the Forest signed in 1217.

Trees and woodlands are vital to the well-being of Planet Earth (people, wildlife, bio-diversity), not least because trees help to regulate the climate, globally and locally. Forests across the globe are under continual threat and need protection.

There is an opportunity to support the new UK Charter by adding your signature to the Charter’s ledger, and for every signature received a tree will be planted by the Woodland Trust.

Simply go to https://treecharter.uk/ to sign, and click on “About Us” to check out the 10 key principles underpinning this key initiative.
